An autopsy revealed that a missing teenager whose body was found late Wednesday was strangled.

Authorities are still trying to gather evidence to determine who killed 18-year-old Shannon Harter. They're believe there may be some link between Harter's death and a suicide in Hancock county.

Harter's body was found late Wednesday night behind the house of her boyfriend's parents on Shiyou Road in the Kiln . Harter had been missing since Monday.

Norman Shiyou Jr., 21, shot himself Wednesday while driving near Shaw Road and Hwy. 53 in Lyman. The Highway Patrol, Harrison and Hancock County Sheriff's departments are investigating this case.
