After more than three hours of searching the river at McLeod State Park, authorities in Hancock County discovered the body of 57-year-old Michael Perry of Leetown Saturday afternoon.
Perry's relatives called 911 around 10:45 a.m. and reported that Perry had been swimming when he suddenly stood up, grabbed his chest and then went under. Hancock County Sheriff Steve Garber believes Perry may have had a heart attack.
Rescue crews brought out boats and dogs to search the water. The Long Beach Dive Rescue Team also assisted in recovering the body after it was located by the search dogs.
Authorities found Perry's body around 2 p.m. Saturday.
