Pascagoula Schools Readies Five-Year Plan

The Pascagoula School System has a new strategic five year plan that's ready to be put into action.

Hundreds of teachers, parents, and others in the community worked on the comprehensive plan for eight months, and the school board approved it earlier this week. The plan deals with issues ranging from student, teacher relationships to academic achievement.

Superintendent Hank Bounds says he's excited about the plan, and is confident it's going to help make things better for Pascagoula schools.

"We're already seeing change," Bounds said. "This process has already torn down walls between the school and the community, and it has allowed our community to have input into what our schools look like."

More than 300 people in the Pascagoula and Gautier communities helped develop the plan.
