TEEN STILL IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Grand Jury Will Investigate Police Accident

A Jackson County Grand jury will decided if an Ocean Springs police officer will face criminal charges for a car accident that left a teenage girl hospitalized. The accident occurred two weeks ago when Officer James Knowles hit 18 year old Jade Baker's car at the intersection of Pabst Road and Magnolia Bayou Boulevard.

The grand jury will decided what roll speeding played in the accident. District Attorney Keith Miller decided to present the case after receiving the accident's file. Miller told WLOX News,  "Anytime there is a situation like this, that involves a police officer, I believe the best way to hand it is to let it go to a grand jury. Let them take a look at it and make a decision".

Jade Baker is still listed in critical condition at Ocean Springs Hospital.
