DOUBLE MURDER HAS POLICE SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS

Man & Woman Murdered in Waveland

What appears to be a double murder in Waveland has investigators looking for answers. When police arrived at Kim's Oriental Spa Monday morning, they found the bodies of a man and woman inside. The business is located at 940 Highway 90 in Waveland.

The police have identified the victims as 54 year old Hwan Suk Kim, and her 35 year old son, Joon H. Kim.

Police went to "Kim's Oriental Spa" shortly before ten Monday morning, after getting a call from a concerned friend, who had been trying to contact the victims. Chief Varnell says the man and woman were each shot once in the head, but he couldn't say from what type of gun.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Paul McGarry was on the crime scene, and he is conducting autopsies at this hour. Police say there have been no reports of problems or trouble at the business during the last five years, but Varnell says they are familiar with the history of Kim's Oriental Spa.

Chief Varnell wouldn't say if there were any signs of a break in or robbery at the spa, so he can't speculate on a motive right now. And there are no suspects at this time.

A healthy chance of rain could not stop more than 200 people from gathering to honor America's war dead Monday in Biloxi. The Memorial Day ceremony, usually held on the grounds of the Biloxi National Cemetery, was moved indoors because of that threat.
