Biloxi Regional Medical Center is the first facility in the state to begin using a new wireless surgical technique in the treatment of brain tumors.
At an afternoon news conference, the hospital unveiled the state of the art technology known as Vector Vision. It is the first Image Guided Surgery system of its kind in the country to completely eliminate cables and wires attached to surgical instruments during delicate brain surgery.
The advantage to this system is it provides the surgeons with more flexibility. It also means less operating time, and in all likelihood, a faster recovery for the patient.
