Another automaker may join Nissan in calling Mississippi home.
Sen. Trent Lott said on Thursday that at least three other automobile manufacturers are looking at Mississippi for some kind of operation, and one of them is seriously considering locating on the Coast.
This is not the first time Lott has hinted that good economic news may be on the horizon. One month ago, he told WLOX News there were ongoing talks with some major companies.
Lott and others credit Nissan with drawing interest to the state. Work on Nissan's manufacturing plant in Madison County has been underway for months. That plant will employ about 4,000 people when it opens in 2003.
