Hawks-Pacers NBA Preseason Game Won't Fly

Basketball fans were looking forward to the October 9th NBA exhibition game between the Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks set for the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. It was announced Tuesday that the game featuring Picayune's Jonathan Bender of Indiana has been cancelled.

Contractual obligations required by the Indiana Pacers were not met in time by the Atlanta-based promoter. Dale Ratermann, Pacers Vice President of Marketing said, "We are extremely disappointed that the Indiana Pacers will not be playing in Biloxi this fall. Everyone in the community were very cooperative and enthusiastic about the game. We hope that we will be able to schedule a Pacers game in Biloxi or the surrounding area again soon."

Refunds are available at place of purchase and will be honored until November 1, 2001.
