A Moss Point company has been hired to pick up the hurricane debris in Jackson County.
The Jackson County Board of Supervisors fired the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers last week. Supervisor Tim Broussard says more than half of the debris from Hurricane Katrina is still on the ground.
Supervisor Manly Barton says M and D Construction will start the negotiations with the county Tuesday. He hopes to have the company on the streets within a few days.
