SHERIFF SAYS DRUG DEAL MAY HAVE GONE BAD

Second Arrest Made In Double Murder

Harrison County Sheriff's deputies have made a second arrest in the murder of two men in Harrison County last week.

Deputies arrested Michael Knight, 41, of Saucier, and charged him with two counts of murder. He's now being held without bond at the Harrison County Jail.

On Thursday night, deputies arrested 47-year-old Robert Stewart, also on murder charges. Investigators believe Stewart shot two Ocean Springs men, and then ran into the woods near Big Creek Road. Deputies searched for him for nine hours before he was captured.

Harrison County Sheriff George Payne did not say what role Knight played in the murders.

Howard Taranto, 43, and Matthew Peresich, 42, were both dead when deputies arrived. Both men had gunshot wounds.

Sheriff Payne says the murders may have been a result of a bad drug deal.
