Bay St. Louis Wins Annexation Battle Against Waveland

Today Chancery Court Judge James Thomas ruled in Bay St. Louis's favor in its annexation battle with Waveland over a section of Highway 603. The ruling indicated the judge didn't think because of the devestation from Hurricane Katrina that Waveland could financially support the additional land and the people who lived there.

The community being annexed consists mainly of the Shorline Park and Garden Isles communities. The annexation battle began about two years ago, and cost both cities a total of about 600 thousand dollars to defend.
