Teen Will Spend Life In Prison For Murder

A Jackson County teen will spend life in prison for a murder he committed last year.

A jury sentenced Richard Jacobs, 19, to life in prison without possibility of parole for the murder of Robert Bruce Martin. The jury found him guilty on Thursday.

The jury was considering the death penalty for Jacobs, but instead announced shortly after 9 p.m. Friday that they were unable to reach a unanimous decision.

Five other people are also charged in this case. Two of them are expected to be tried this fall. No trial dates have been set for the others.
