Postmaster Suggests Contacting Publishers For Missing Magazines

The postal service says Hurricane Katrina presented its biggest challenge in getting mail to you. Mail is being processed and sorted at the plant in Gulfport and postmaster Mike Bertucci says everyone should be getting their mail.

He says in the first weeks after the storm, the postal service put an embargo on certain zip-codes in the storm area. If you're missing out on magazines and catalogs, Bertucci suggests contacting the publication directly.

"I really can't answer for them whether they will go back, but I'm quite sure if you're missing any issues they would be more than happy to provide them," Bertucci says.

Bertucci says they were able to begin limited operations the day after the storm when employees began showing up for work
