The Harrison County Supervisors are advertising for bids for new tamper-proof flag poles for the beach-front eight flags display.
Sand beach director Bobby Weaver says the board is expected to receive bids by August first and then possibly award a contract at the first board meeting after that. The flags, including the controversial Confederate battle flag, were removed last year to protect them from protesters.
In June, the supervisors voted to fly all eight flags again. The supervisors are expected to pay about $10,000 for all eight poles.
