Keesler Standoff Ends Without Harm

A seven hour standoff between a Keesler airman and police is now over. A Keesler public affairs officer tells us a tech sergeant barricaded himself inside his home in West Falcon Military housing shortly after eight Monday night. The airman told police he had a gun and was going to kill himself. Biloxi police and Keesler military officers surounded the home and evacuated neighbors. Around 3:30 Tuesday morning, Keesler security followed a squadron dog inside the home. The airman gave up his loaded 38 millimeter handgun and surrendered. The airman's name has not been released. He is being evaluated at Keesler Medical Center.
