LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) - If the first game of the 2018 high school football season is any indication, we're in for some exciting action this year on the Coast.
Despite trailing 10-7 at halftime, Pass Christian came back to survive a wild second half, holding off Long Beach 34-31 at Lumpkin-Magee Stadium.
The first edition of the Oyster Bowl did not disappoint. Bearcats junior quarterback Cade Crosby threw for four touchdowns as the two teams traded blows throughout the second half, but ultimately Casey Wittman's Pirates prevailed over Long Beach in the debut of Bearcats head coach Philip Pigott.
Pass Christian running back Gordon Ward added two touchdowns as well.
