Moss Point ministry packs backpacks for 'Back to School Bash'

MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - For the inaugural "Back to School Bash", the goal is to hand out 100 backpacks.

On Wednesday, members of Releasing the Youth Ministries packed backpacks full of school supplies. They were getting ready to hand them out free of charge to struggling families this weekend.

The event is Saturday, July 14 at 3906 Main Street in Moss Point, beginning at 12 p.m. There will also be free food, live music and a bounce house for the kids.

"We are helping single parents and struggling families to make sure their children have what they need to go back to school. We teamed up with Sixth Gear Motorcycle Club and we're coming together, making sure the children have whatever they need. Everything that they need for school, at least the basics of what they need for school," said Releasing the Ministries founder Delilah Jackson.

The group is accepting donations to make this event possible. You can make a monetary donation or drop of supplies. For more information contact Delilah at (228) 217-9311.
