BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Another Shucker is headed to Washington D.C. next weekend.
Luis Ortiz will join Keston Huira as the lone Brewers organization representatives in the 2018 MLB All-Star Futures Game. The game takes place Sunday, July 15.
Ortiz was named a replacement on the U.S. team roster Tuesday for Astros RHP Forrest Whitley.
The Brewers' fourth-ranked prospect, Ortiz has a 1-4 record in 2018 to go with a 4.41 ERA.
Hiura said he is happy to be sharing the experience with his teammate, and just to experience the event overall.
"It feels great," Hiura told WLOX. "There's always a thought of possibly doing that and watching it on TV, but to actually be invited and to be part of the All-Star Game festivities, it's quite the feeling and I'm really excited for it."
