Mission Group Helps Expand Biloxi Church

More than 50 teenagers from Arkansas are spending part of their summer vacation on a mission project in Biloxi.

A group from Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock is helping build an addition at St. Paul United Methodist in downtown Biloxi. They got to work after Sunday service and are already raising the walls on the 5,000 square foot project.

Rev. Edward Moses says its part of a "partners in ministry" program.

The youth workers say the joy of helping others makes the mission project something special.

"It's the best trip to go on, and we pay money to go on this. But we get so much satisfaction from seeing everyone and everyone is so thankful that we can come," teenaged-volunteer Trisha Noble said. "We love meeting all the new people."

The new addition will house an auditorium, a new kitchen and several Sunday school classes. Several local businesses have also donated materials toward the project.
