In this edition of FFF we dissect "experts" who counted out the Pelicans, a soccer club gives fans refunds after a bad performance, and I visited to Bucktown to eat at a legendary spot

FOOTBALL

"You think you know, but you don't know." Former Saints head coach Jim Mora uttered those words to the media years ago, and now that sound bite rings true with the Pelicans.

Before the season even started, so-called "experts" opined giving Jrue Holiday a max-contract was a bad move. Those same people also questioned the future of head coach Alvin Gentry and GM Dell Demps. After the Boogie Cousins injury, prognosticators said the Pels were DONE.

Well, you know what happened. Holiday is a bona fide star, Gentry and Demps will be back next season, and the Pels still made the postseason after the Cousins injury.

The Pelicans performance these last few months tells us one thing, you think you know, but you don't know.

It's impossible to know all the moves the squad will make during a season, and how those chess pieces will work together.  You can make bold statements, but there's a good chance you'll swing and miss.

Pelicans.com writer Jim Eichenhofer recently told me the only prediction he'll make is there will be a basketball game played. Even he was wrong on that front February 6th. The Pelicans-Pacers game was postponed due to a leak in the roof at the Smoothie King Center.

FÚTBOL

I'm not a fan of the soccer club Monaco, but they might not only keep the fans they have, but gain new ones after this noble act.

Monaco will reimburse supporters who traveled to watch their squad get smashed by Paris-St. Germain, 7-1. Monaco posted on their Twitter account that they would offer refunds to all fans who attended.

Monaco Vice-president Vadim Vasilyev described the defeat as a "disaster scenario", adding "The only ones who were up to the task were our supporters and I thank them."

FOOD

With the influx of new restaurants in the city, and the rush to check them all out, you sometimes forget about the classics that never disappoint.

I hit one of the originals recently, R&O's in Bucktown, and goodness I was missing out. The roast beef poboy is no doubt one of the best in the city. The gumbo to start with, was also a solid move by yours truly.

The roast beef mixed in with the atmosphere, makes it a must-visit my friends.
