STPSO to hold news conference on killings of couple found in submerged car

The St. Tammany Parish sheriff will hold a news conference Wednesday at 10 a.m. to discuss details and possibly release autopsy findings on the causes of death for two friends whose bodies were found in a submerged car.

The bodies of Raegan Elizabeth Day and Dustin Hartline were recovered Monday fin the area of the East Pearl River Boat Launch on Highway 90.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the case. Each has been arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on two counts each of first-degree murder.

  • Jason Landry (12/3/1999; Slidell) was apprehended with the assistance of Waveland Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service.
  • Brittney “Beezy” Savell (3/28/1992; Slidell) was apprehended with the assistance of Waveland Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service.
  • Derrion Lemoine (DOB 3/24/1995; Lacombe)
  • Steven “Stevie” Olivieri (DOB 7/16/1990; Slidell)

The sheriff said the investigation is ongoing and other arrests are possible.

Day and Hartline were last seen leaving their home on Joe Moore Road in Pearl River at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 15. The pair were en route to a family member’s home in Kenner, and from there were expected to head to the Baton Rouge area.  

They never showed up at the family member’s home.

Causes of death have not been released.

    Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive on the Coast tomorrow to examine wreckage from that Cessna 172 that crashed this morning just north of the Diamondhead Airport.
