For the third time in the last four games, the Pelicans needed overtime to decide a contest and once again Monday night, they were on the winning side of the extra basketball as they beat the Chicago Bulls, 132-128.

It actually required two extra periods to decide the contest and that allowed DeMarcus Cousins to tally 44 points, 24 rebounds and 10 assists. It is only the second time in NBA history that a player has put together that stat line, joining Wilt Chamberlain who had 53-32-14 back in 1968. In his 51 minutes played, Cousins added 4 steals, a stat that was not officially kept by the NBA until 1973.

Anthony Davis put up 34 points but fouled out of the game during the first overtime. Three other Pelicans scored double digit points.

With the win, Alvin Gentry's team improves to 25-21 and has a day to rest before playing Wednesday in Charlotte.
