Coast Fair Sees Good Crowds For Final Weekend

The sunny weather this weekend helped make sure that plenty of people showed up for the final days of the Coast fair on the grounds of the coliseum.

But despite this weekend's large crowds, vendors say attendance still wasn't as great as they would have liked. They say last weekend's bad weather last weekend had a big impact on their business. Healthy crowds could not make for that damage.

"It's been a downfall since the weather," fair vendor Matthew Butt said. "Nobody's come out. It's just been a bad year this year."

"We are making some headway back," coliseum director Bill Holmes said. "Of course you'll never lose major days like opening night, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday."

Coliseum officials are already planning next year's fair, and they say they already have some improvements in mind to boost attendance.
