Barbour Wants Kia To Build In Mississippi

Governor Haley Barbour is working to bring a major car manufacturer to Mississippi. Monday he met with the CEO of Kia Motors in Seoul, South Korea.

Barbour expressed Mississippi's desire to house the plant, and discussed possible incentives should it be built.

Kia officials are still surveying the market, but a decision could be made before the end of the year.

The meeting was part of Barbour's 17 day trip to Asia to promote Mississippi industry and tourism.

Earlier this month, he met with Nissan Motor Company officials to encourage them to consider building a plant in Mississippi.
