Jackson County Administrator Resigns

Long time Jackson County administrator George Touart resigned Tuesday during a closed door meeting with the Board of Supervisors. Touart has served as county administrator for the last 10-years. Board President Frank Leach says the resignation was a surprise, but plans to start advertising and interviewing for the job immediately.

In the interim, the Board has appointed the county's computer training manager George Sholl to the position. Supervisors will hold a meeting Wednesday morning with county managers to discuss the effects of the resignation.
