Stand-up comic Ralphie May dead at 45

(RNN) - Stand-up comic Ralphie May died on Friday of cardiac arrest. 

May, 45,  saw his career take off after he was runner-up on NBC's  “Last Comic Standing” in the early 2000s. 

He had been performing in Las Vegas this week despite health problems. 

May and fellow comedian Lahna Turner married and also appeared in a podcast together. Turner filed for divorce in 2015. The couple had two children.  

May had appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  He was born in Tennessee, but was raised in Arkansas.

    Ms. Geraldine Payne was overwhelmed with thankfulness when a group of teenage volunteers showed up in her yard.  "I just feel like they are friends for the rest of my life, I'll put it like that. I'm thankful for them and I thank the good Lord for sending them to me, I really am," said Payne.  She enjoys having company, but it was hard for anyone to get up into her house to see her.   "Upon arriving here I noticed there was a rot...a completely rotten ...
