PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Long Beach man was arrested Tuesday night accused of killing his younger brother. Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said Steven Stuart, 60, now faces a murder charge.

Ogden told WLOX News Now deputies were responding to a welfare check when they found the victim, John Stuart, 53, of Poplarville, dead at his home on Newman Road Tuesday morning.

“He appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds,” said Ogden. “Our investigation lead to his brother being a possible suspect.”

Ogden said investigators believe the two brothers got into an argument before the shooting.

Steven was found and arrested around 8:30 p.m. He was taken to the Pearl River County Jail.
