Technology developed at Stennis Space Center will soon be testing noise levels at a rather loud location.
Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport will be a demonstration site for the latest noise sensoring devices.
A company called "AeroAstro" is working with the airport to install a series of remote noise detectors. The devices measure sound levels... then use wireless transmitters to relay that information to a satellite.
Bruce Fralic is the Airport Director.
"They're black boxes that sense the noise in the area. The approaches and runways etc., and transmit that information to satellite and collect the data and then re transmit it at some point where they collect and analyze it."
