JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Two accidents on the interstate in Jackson County Wednesday caused major traffic delays for much of the morning.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, the first accident happened near mile marker 48 in the eastbound lane when an 18-wheeler rear-ended another vehicle, causing the semi-truck to cross the median and block the westbound lanes. Officials say there were no injuries.
Shortly after that incident, another wreck happened in the westbound lanes at mile marker 52. State troopers say a vehicle rear-ended an 18-wheeler. The driver of the passenger vehicle was treated for minor injuries.
The accidents took about an hour to clear up. Traffic is now moving smoothly.
