SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - It has been warm, muggy, and stormy at times throughout the past few weeks in South Mississippi - all things we would expect this time of year.
Something that happens more rarely this time of year is that we get a cold front to swing through, but we may just get that next weekend.
The weather models we follow are hinting at a cold front to approach Saturday and Sunday, which would cause an increase in rain chances ahead of it for the weekend. The good news is that behind it we would get the nicer weather.
Unfortunately, before the front comes through, it has the possibility of bringing strong to severe storms out ahead of it. That will be a concern throughout next weekend if the cold front does make it this far south.
The strong storms would likely bring a main concern of damaging winds and flooding, but it is still too early to put it in stone and is something the WLOX First Alert Weather Team will be watching closely throughout the week.
Behind the front we likely wouldn't see much of a change in temperatures, but we would notice drier conditions with much lower humidity than what we have been having these past few weeks accompanied with lower rain chances.
Be sure to stay with the WLOX First Alert Weather Team throughout the week as we keep you updated on the possibility of severe weather this weekend and more comfortable conditions next week.
