Moss Point police investigating July 15 shooting

MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - The Moss Point Police Department is investigating a July 15 shooting, and detectives are reaching out to the community for help.

Officials said the shooting happened around 2 p.m. in the area of 2nd St. and Frederick St. Police Chief Calvin Hutchins said the suspect fired shots into an occupied vehicle and left the scene.

According to Hutchins, investigators were able to take a suspect into custody.

Hutchins said in a news release the shooter "endangered the lives of many people in the community."

Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
