HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

The Harrison County Utility Authority is outlining some of its concerns with the county's solid waste contractor, Waste Pro.

The HCUA's executive director sent a memo, detailing complaints against Waste Pro. He says the utility authority has handled more than 2,400 calls related to Waste Pro since February, including more than 500 so far this month.

Many of the callers expressed their frustration with the company's trash collection services. The HCUA says it's looking to address these issues with Waste Pro and come up with solutions for improving service through the end of its contract.

Harrison Co. residents to pay more, get less with new garbage contract

Last month, the utility authority contracted with another company, Team Waste, to take over garbage service from Waste Pro beginning Oct. 1.
