BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - According to experts, America makes up 5 percent of the world's population, yet locks up 25 percent of the world's prisoners.

Award-winning director Ava DuVernay explores the troubling statistics about the US prison system in her recent Netflix documentary, 13th.

The Iota Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Inc. has partnered with area organizations to host an educational screening of the film. Just under two hours, a community discussion will be held following the screening.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 22 at 12:30 p.m. in the community room at Hancock Bank, located at 888 Howard Dr.
