Biloxi Shuckers banged out 13 hits in 8-2 win over Birmingham Barons on Monday

BILOXI, MS (Biloxi Shuckers) -

The Biloxi Shuckers jumped all over Barons starting pitcher Tanner Banks.  Tyrone Taylor belted a double in the bottom of the first.  Blake Allemand followed with a single past first base into right field. That base hit drove home Taylor with the games first run.

With a runner on first, Michael Choice stepped up to the plate.  He ripped a deep fly ball that sailed over 400 feet to center field for a 2-run home run and Biloxi led 3-0.  That was the fifth home run for Choice over the past eight days.

Tyrone Taylor had a big night.  The Shuckers left fielder went 4-for-5, had 2 RBI and scored two runs.

Choice went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and scored a run.  Javier Bettancourt had 2 hits in 4 trips to the plate, scored a run and had one RBI.

A crowd of 3,610 fans watched the Shuckers last home game for awhile.  Biloxi will open a five-game road series in Pearl beginning Wednesday night at 7:00.
