PERKINSTON, MS (MGCCC) -

Former Ohio State quarterback Torrance Gibson appeared ready to transfer to Cincinnati, but instead enrolled at Mississippi Gulf Coast. The former five-star recruit is on track to graduate in December.

Below is the press release from MGCCC -

"Torrance Gibson, a quarterback from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has reported to summer school and will play football this fall at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

“I just want to win,” he said. “I want to learn. It’s a chance for a brand new start, to start from the bottom.”

The team has started its summer conditioning program on the Perkinston campus, and the school’s academic support staff has him on track to graduate in December.

Gibson threw for nearly 2,000 yards and ran for more than 1,000 as a senior, helping win the team’s second straight Class 5A state championship. He finished his career with more than 4,000 passing yards, 44 passing touchdowns, 2,275 rushing yards and 28 rushing touchdowns."
