SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

Tropical Depression Four (TD #4) has formed in the Atlantic. As of the 11 PM EST update, the National Hurricane Center has placed the center of the circulation about 1400 miles east of the Virgin Islands, moving west/northwest at 14 mph. Winds were about 30 mph.

As TD #4 tracks west, it will encounter dry air and wind shear which is expected to keep the developmental process slow.

As of now, it is forecast to stay a depression and approach the Bahamas by late this weekend into early next week.

As of now, this does not appear to be a direct impact to south Mississippi. However, the WLOX First Alert Team will closely monitor any changes in intensity and direction.

If TD #4 becomes a tropical storm, it will be the fourth named storm of the season and will be given the name, Don.
