HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Several law enforcement agencies are searching for a driver who fled from a traffic stop in Harrison County, led them on a pursuit, and ran into the woods.

The search is taking place in the woods off Highway 15, near the Biloxi city line.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol said one of their troopers pulled over the driver earlier Tuesday evening on Highway 67 northbound. After the trooper approached the driver's window to get his license information, he said the driver hit the gas and took off.

The pursuit went north on Highway 67 to Highway 605, and then back onto Highway 67. The suspect then wrecked his vehicle on Highway 15 near the Biloxi city limits and ran into the woods.

The Biloxi Police Department, D'Iberville Police Department, and Mississippi Highway Patrol are all searching for the driver, who is described as a 25-year-old man.
