BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - For the second time in his professional career, and the first time since 2015, Shuckers RHP Jorge Lopez was called up to the Milwaukee Brewers.
In Milwaukee's 11-3 win over the Reds, Lopez allowed four hits and an earned run in two innings pitched.
Lopez, the Shuckers' club leader in most pitching categories, was 3-6 for Biloxi with a 5.04 ERA over 16 games this season. However, Lopez recently moved from the starting lineup to the bullpen, a move Shuckers manager Mike Guerrero predicted (accurately) could help Lopez get back to the Show.
"He has experience starting, now he's gonna have some experience coming out of the bullpen, whatever is the need," Guerrero said earlier this week. "In the big leagues, he (now) has experience in all that that makes him more special. That makes him have more opportunities at the big-league levels."
