SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

Here's a look at flooding and other problems in South Mississippi Wednesday as Tropical Storm Cindy moved closer to shore.

Around 8:20am, a waterspout was spotted coming on shore around Edgewater Mall in Biloxi, and moving inland towards the Popp's Ferry area.

The waterspout touched down further inland, taking down a large oak tree and some power lines near Rich Ave. in Biloxi.

Beauvoir, the historic last home of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, saw a few downed limbs and damage to the fence. Ironically, employees were scheduled to hold a tornado drill Wednesday morning.

In Ocean Springs, tides are running about two to three feet above normal and Front Beach has pretty much disappeared under the waves. The waves are lapping up against the seawall and County Road Engineer Joel O'Neal says some of that seawall has already been undermined and is in danger of collapsing.

Other areas saw street flooding and rising rivers, and more is expected throughout the day and night Wednesday and into Thursday.
