MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

The Mobile District Attorney's Office has announced three new indictments against murder suspect Steven Mason, who is accused of killing 24-year-old Ke'lei Morris in 2015.

According to Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Wright, Mason asked another man to kill three witnesses that would testify in the trial for Morris' murder.

Morris was shot in the head outside her apartment on Grelot Road.

Mason has been in Mobile County Metro Jail since his March 20 arrest. Wright says Mason requested the murders while in jail. The DA's Office is not commenting on the person who was asked to commit the murders.

The three new charges are all solicitation to commit murder.

"I think Morris' family is certainly upset and disturbed by this and concerned and they just want justice to prevail," Wright said.

It took a two year  joint investigation by the Mobile Police Department and the DA's Office before two people were arrested for Morris' murder. Prosecutors say Adam Miller is a co-conspirator in the case.

Both Mason and Morris were nurses at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center and Miller was a patient there, according to court documents.

A judge will decide during an arraignment hearing whether or not Mason is granted bond.

FOX10 News has left a voicement for Mason's defense attorney. A reporter also stopped by his office but he was not there.
