More than 21,000 people attended the Conference USA Baseball tournament at MGM Park in May.

On Thursday, officials gathered again to turn those figures into funds for local charities.

Organized by Overtime Sports, around $18,000 from the five-day tournament was distributed to 13 charities. Overtime Sports CEO Tim Bennett says that in the future, he hopes to give back even more to the community.

"The fact that were were able to raise the amount of money that were were able to raise is really a tribute to the entire Gulf Coast for supporting it," said Bennett. "The more people that come out, the more we can support the charities."

Nine mayors, along with Gautier's Gordon Gollot, were able to nominate charities to receive money from the event.

"It's great for charities. We got the opportunity to give money to all organizations along the Gulf Coast. That, to me, was the number one thing," said Gollot.

Bennett says the donations were made in hopes of showing support to the communities that have supported the team.

"This is a chance for us to show that, you know, we didn't just come here to make money and take money. We came to distribute a good time, a family-fun environment for the entire Gulf Coast," said Bennett. "Seeing all those schools and people that were here for the first time from different states for Conference USA Baseball was energetic, it was electric. So, we're happy that we could share some of the money with the charities."

Along with funds to charities, payouts were given to the City of Biloxi and C-USA.
