GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Antonio Dallas and his wife Michelle started rehabbing their home 18 months ago, after they inherited it from her parents.

But in January, Antonio underwent a kidney and pancreas transplant that halted renovations.

"I've always been a diabetic and struggling with my illness, but it got worse because I had a double-transplant and a stroke

He is now unable to do the work needed to be able live in the home. Antonio and Michelle hope the community can help out in their time of need.

"Looking for someone to come in and finish the insulation, the sheet rock, the flooring and shooting the texture on the sheet rock and finish floating it out, "said Antonio, who doesn't get disability because he is married and Michelle has a job.

Despite health issues, circumstances, and tons of medical bills, Antonio remains positive.

Michelle said, "We just want to be in here and live and just be able to enjoy life and not be under so much stress.  Like I said, I'm the only form of income and everything is solely on me. I do the best I can with what I have."

Michelle has reached out to several agencies, but says no one can help.

"If you're listening ,or know of any agencies or any contacts that I can reach out [to] who want to help me finish up my house, I would greatly appreciate it."
