Mississippi Braves slip past the Biloxi Shuckers 5-4 in 12 innings Wednesday night

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

It looked as if the Biloxi Shuckers would post another win over Mississippi on Wednesday, but closer Matt Ramsey would give up one run on one hit with 2 base on balls and 3 strikeouts in the bottom of the ninth and the Braves tied the game at 3-3.   He would be ejected after arguing with the home plate umpire.  Before tonight Ramsey was perfect 14 for 14 in save opportunities. 

Josh Uhen (L, 1-1) suffered the loss for the Shuckers.  in 2 2/3 innings he gave up 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 base on balls.

Michael Choice led Biloxi with 3 hits in 5 at-bats He had a double, scored a run and had one RBI. Blake Allemand was 2-for-5 with 1 RBI and scored a run.

Ronald Acuna led the Braves with 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 2 RBI.  Jared James had 2 hits in 6 trips to the plate, scored a run and had an RBI.

Michael Mader (W, 4-3) posted the win.  He pitched the top of the 12th and gave up no runs, no hits and 1 strikeout.

The Shuckers (31-29) close out their five-game road series with the Braves (30-29) at Trustmark Park in Pearl 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.  

Pensacola (33-26) dropped a double-header to Mobile, so the Shuckers are 2 games behind the Blue Wahoos in the Southern League South Division standings.
