This week general elections were held across the state. Like they always do, precinct workers got to the polls early and opened for 12 hours. And we elected city leaders. But there were plenty of voting precincts open where there were no contested races.
In Gulfport, only Ward 2 was contested, but precincts in every other ward were also open for business. Why? It seems there is a state law that says if any precincts are open in that city, they must all open.
What a waste of time and money. State lawmakers need to fix this. That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to email@example.com.
