GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport police have linked the suspect accused of robbing a gas station Wednesday morning to several other armed robberies in the area.

Sgt. Joshua Bromen said 46-year-old Johnny Ray Taylor is facing four counts of armed robbery. He was arrested by detectives Wednesday after police responded to an armed robbery call at the Citgo gas station in the 1100 block of Pass Rd.

Police said a masked man pulled out a weapon during the robbery before running from the scene. No injuries were reported. Taylor was arrested about two hours after that robbery.

Investigators believe Taylor is also responsible for armed robberies on May 29, June 1, and June 4. Bromen said the June robberies were all gas stations, but the May 29 robbery was another business.

In each case, Bromen said Taylor held up the businesses at gunpoint, demanding money and cigarettes.

Taylor was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility on a $600,000 bond.
