HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Hancock County deputies made a huge drug bust over the weekend, intercepting 181 pounds of marijuana bound for Biloxi.

The stop happened Saturday around 1am in the eastbound lane of I-10 at mile marker 13. Danny Guzman, 26, of Laredo, Texas was arrested and charged with Trafficking Marijuana. He's currently being held at the Hancock County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

Investigators say the pot was likely headed for delivery in Biloxi. If broken down and sold at street value, the seized marijuana is worth more than $1.2 million dollars.

"We are always happy to intercept large shipments of illegal drugs moving through Hancock County. This one is particularly satisfying because the evidence suggests the drugs would have very soon been distributed and sold right here in our Gulf Coast community," said Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam.
