GULFPORT, MS -

Bible Education and Missionary Service has shipped bibles across the world for more than two decades.

"Twenty years ago we moved it from Houston, Texas to Gulfport and we started sending Bibles out to missionaries around the world," said BEAMS president Rene Freret.

The organization has served over 150 missionaries worldwide since 1997. Bibles are printed in 48 different languages.

"We've been doing this for over 20 years and we've sent out over [1.5] million Bibles to missionaries, right out of Gulfport. Every bible we send has Gulfport in it," said Rene. "We're representing the city of Gulfport all over the world."

On June 3, missionaries from across the United States celebrated in the Duckworth Road warehouse where the Bibles are packed and shipped. The facility is also used to house missionaries who come to South Mississippi to work.

"It feels very humbling because it's not just us. It's many people, many churches, many pastors. Of course, to God be the glory because it's Him who works through people," said Freda Freret, executive director.

There's also a museum inside of the building that is dedicated to the history of the Bible.
