Bryant orders flags lowered across Mississippi

Flags across Mississippi will fly at half-staff Thursday in memory of the eight people killed in a mass shooting in Lincoln County. Governor Phil Bryant ordered all state and American flags lowered from sunrise to sunset on June 1.

Willie Cory Godbolt, 35, is charged with one count of capital murder and seven counts of first-degree murder. He was denied bond by earlier this week by a Lincoln County judge.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation identified some of those killed as Barbara Mitchell, 55; Brenda May, 53; Tocarra May, 35; Ferral Burage, 45; and Shelia Burage, 46; and deputy William Durr, 36. Austin Edwards and Jordan Blackwell were identified as additional victims by their parents.
