Biloxi Shuckers look for first-home win 6:35 Thursday night against Pensacola

BILOXI, MS (Biloxi Shuckers) - Biloxi is looking to get back under the win column 6:35 Thursday night at MGM Park following a solid pitching performance by the Blue Wahoos on Wednesday.  The 3-0 loss dropped the Shuckers to 3 and 3 on the season and that was a third straight defeat by Biloxi.

Pitcher Jorge Lopez will get the starting call tonight facing Luis Castillo of Pensacola.  Fans arriving early will receive a Biloxi Shuckers 2017 Magnet Schedule.

On Wednesday Pensacola starter Tyler Mahle didn't give up a hit until the sixth inning.  Javier Betancourt popped the single for the Shuckers who had the bases loaded and no outs.  Mahle would strike out Mauricio Dubon and Johnny Davis, and Michael Reed would ground out to first base.  Mahle gave up that one hit in seven innings to secure the win before 3,708 fans.

Alex Blandino provided the big hit for the Blue Wahoos.  He belted a double with the bases loaded in the fourth inning, that cleared the bases.

Aaron Wilkerson started the game for the Shuckers and Taylor Jungmann pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Wilkerson.  Taylor Scott and Preston Gainey combined for three scoreless innings.

Johnny Davis failed to get a hit and that ended his hitting streak dating back to last season at 13.
