Police: Suspects caught stealing boat motors in Gulfport

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

A pair of Saucier men was arrested Sunday in Gulfport and charged with grand larceny. Officials said they were caught after cutting two motors off the back of a boat.

Gulfport police Sgt. Joshua Bromen said officers responded to a theft in progress on Mill Rd. around 4:20 a.m. Two suspects took off on foot when police arrived.

Bromen said investigators found two motors had been cut from a boat, and officers searched the surrounding area.

Bromen said 25-year-old Daniel Odell Cuevas and 33-year-old Jeremy Dean Latimer were arrested nearby a short time later. Both men were charged with grand larceny. Cuevas’ bond was set at $50,000, and Latimer’s bond was set at $100,000.
